"YOU STAND FOR TRUTH AND JUSTICE." When an Organization who has been brought to court over child abuse, settles out of court with gag orders. Many ask: why request the gag order? What is the Organization afraid of? Is it child abuse victims telling the truth? The child abuse victim is not the guilty one, they are the predator's victim. And you gag the victim. Is this Christian? Lets ask the Organization a question. What is the first Amendment that you have used in court? Yes. Freedom of speech! And you take away child abuse victims freedom of speech with gag orders! Jesus would call you hypocrites offspring of vipers, because you claim the rights of the first amendment, but take it away from child abuse victims! If you claim to be Christian, show it!!! Leave the compensation in place and take away the gag orders!!! If you are champions of freedom of speech what is stopping you? Should any victim of crime be gagged? Your Governing Body has some serious questions to be answered. Have they contemplated what a worldwide campaign in all the major cities of the world supporting victims of crime, victims of child abuse would do. Bringing in trade union movements around the world to lift gag orders off victims of crime, victims of child abuse. Settling out of court is a relief to the victim [if you have compassion you would understand that] but to offer compensation with a gag order shows no compassion! Any victim of crime has to talk about it to heal! DS Sunday, July 11, 2010 @ 10:37 PM Raymond Franz Death I am so saddened and shocked by the news that Raymond Franz is dead. I didn't know him personally, but his book "Crisis of Conscience" helped me so much in leaving the JW and making a new life for myself. It was written with so much clarity into the hidden things of the gov. body, without any anger. It was facts, just facts to help those of us who never knew what went on behind closed doors at Bethel. Please let his wife know how much he did for people like me, who were suffering abuse in the organization because we thought we had no way out. Their hinting at being more than human is starting to get creepy. They sound just like the Pharisees. "Worship us or die. Why? Jehovah said so. Where in the Bible? We don't have to show you, are you calling us liars?" The gentle and naive ones wouldn't go that far. I'd say "Yes you are liars, show me and if you can't, you're going to have a big problem." I've been in touch with newspaper writers who had done interviews at Bethel about policies and the elders flat out lied. I found out and called the authors. They tried to contact the original lying elder but then he wouldn't see them. They are such weasels. If there are apostles and if they are watching from Heaven or anywhere, I'm sure they are weeping for the children and asking the nearest angel to borrow his sword just for one day. They consider themselves as semi-gods, and half- gods never excuse. Half-gods? Yes, in their New World Translation they denote Christ Jesus as "main mediator" at four scriptures (Acts 3:15; 5:31; Hebr. 2:10; 12:2). "Main mediator" implies that there are other mediators next to Christ as well -- they themselves or, for that matter, their 144,000, standing between God and man. They won't even do it a little bit in that round-a-bout way they did in 1980 about being wrong about 1975. And even then, they blamed it on some vague JW's as if they hadn't ever mentioned 1975 ever. They ignored the years of building up all JW's world-wide. In 1980, they printed a quote something like,"Some of the brothers read more into the Scriptures than the verses were really saying." There was another sentence or two but you can look it up. If they took five years to apologize about a doctrine that no one who was NOT a JW cared about, they won't EVER mention something that entails thousands of crimes and each one being covered up by the WT. They've denied there are pedophiles for decades. They've said the few that have been discovered have been expelled or punished. Yet many still serve as elders. They just CANNOT admit all these crimes. They would be sued out of existence. They don't have the money that the Catholic Church has. But worse yet, they demand that all JW's and the world view them as holy, perfect, and better than ANY other religion. Admitting ANY of these crimes would put them on the same level as the Catholic Church or even lower since they lied about it for so long and so blatantly. It's just not going to happen in my opinion. Wednesday, June 9, 2010 @ 8:19 PM Re: Raymond Franz I just wanted to say again how much Ray will be missed, especially by the thousands of people that he helped. His books alone freed many thousands of people from the fear and guilt that had been taught them and forced upon them by the WT and the GB members, as well as the various "writers" employed by the Jehovah's Witnesses cult. His personality was well reflected in his books, particularly "Crisis of Conscience". He was never negative toward individuals, although many had slandered him, lied about him in the WT publications, and violated the majority of the teachings in the Bible. He used logic, kindness, and clear and fair reasoning whenever he made a point concerning Bible teachings. He didn't put forth personal beliefs or interpretations like the WT does. He always allowed the Scriptures to speak for themselves. In my 60 years of life, and 40 of those years being aware of the WT's teachings and dealings with its members, I've learned that life holds many ironies. One very common irony was endured by Ray. That was the fact that the majority of JW's believed Ray to be an enemy of God for the past 30 years. Yet the reality was and still is, that Raymond Franz was a champion FOR God and the Bible. Although the WT now no doubt believes he has been silenced, such will never be the case. His books will live on, his courage will inspire others to continue to expose religious cruelty and hypocrisy, and how he lived his life will be an example that will endure forever. Now those of us who know the REAL "truth" can continue to help those victims who have suffered much due to the WT's criminal policies. We still have much to do and as always, I thank Bill Bowen for his work in keeping this site alive and urge all who can to help by assisting financially, by warning others of the pedophiles that this religion protects, and to always be alert for opportunities to do the right thing in life, no matter what the cost. Are there any statistics comparing the number of pedophilia cases in other religions/denominations compared with Jehovah's Witnesses? Understanding the comparison in no way diminishes the unfolding tragedy inside the WT, or the suffering of the victims, or the injustice that has been/is being committed in the name of 'religion.' I wrote this him to him August 27: Dear Raymond, something terrible has happen to our family, our daughter Mette's 21 year old daughter Jessica was killed in a car accident yesterday, Wednesday. Mette asked me today if you could help us with some guidance for the funeral service, just a little talk. You are the only one who can help us now in this sad situation. We just sit and cry. The same day, August 27, he send us this comforting letter: Dear Ole and family, We were very sorry to hear of the death of your granddaughter, Jessica. I am sure it will take some time for you to adjust to the loss, and even more so on the part of her mother. God’s Word recognizes the uncertainty of life and the unpredictable circumstances that can occur, as Ecclesiastes 9:11 says “time and chance (unforeseen occurrence) happen to all.” God’s Son was himself moved to tears on seeing the grieving of Lazarus’ sisters at the time of Lazarus’ death. (John 11:33-35) Even as the greatest appreciation of water comes with being very thirsty, and of food when being very hungry, or of sleep when being extremely tired, so too one can appreciate the crucial value and beauty of the resurrection hope, and the strength it gives, most particularly when experiencing the loss of a loved one, or when facing death oneself. The Scriptural knowledge shared by you and your family that death is comparable to sleep and that those sleeping in death can be awakened from that sleep by Christ’s call awakening them to return to life (John 5:25, 28, 29) aids tremendously to give relief to sorrow, so that as Christians we “may not grieve as do others who have no hope.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13, 14) You have the hope of seeing Jessica again and should feel even more motivated to faithfulness in your service to God and his loving Son who will make that possible. I completed 88 years of life in May and Cynthia reaches 76 in August, so we both recognize that the time remaining for us is not great. One thinks of the words of the psalmist, “Our years come to an end like a sigh. ” (Psalm 90:9, 10) While “our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day,” as we look “not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen,” not at the temporary, but at the eternal, having entrusted ourselves to “a faithful Creator.” (2 Corinthians 4:16-18; 1 Peter 4:19) As regards a “funeral service” this is entirely a matter for personal choice. For myself, following my death I would personally prefer not to have some formal service held in a “funeral parlor” but would prefer that those of my friends who are able and would care to, would come to our home to meet with my wife and join together in comforting her, recalling whatever pleasant association they had had with me, and any experiences of worth and value that resulted from this. But as I say, that is only my personal preference and is not presented as something for others to be guided by. Mette’s wishes should be given priority and if she feels a regular funeral service is best then that is what you should do. In that case, as family head you might preside in discussing the wonderful hope God provides in his Word, and perhaps then give other family members the opportunity to each make their personal expression. Again these are only thoughts and whatever choice your family makes is the one to be governed by. We wish you God’s help now in reconstructing your life after this loss and I trust that your giving mutual support and comforting one another will give added meaning to the daily life of each of you. Although it is too bad he died without having publicly acknowledged the severe child abuse problem created & maintained by WT policy, his book Crisis of Conscience helped so many open their eyes to the other atrocities of the WT society. For whatever reasons, he was unwilling to publicly acknowledge the child abuse issue. Maybe it was guilt over his part in creating the two witness policy, or guilt over other related issues that have yet to be made public. So, as conflicted as I feel about him, I do appreciate that his books helped many witnesses make the bold, brave, sane decision to leave the WTBTS. Ray will never be forgotten. He lives on. M.A.N. He proves his statements and never lowers himself to the level of the WT writers. The WT makes any statements they want, twist the Bible verses to TRY to prove their opinions, and DF anyone who dares to question them. It's black and white. So we had a close connection. As some of you might still know I have also quarrels with my family: My sister makes me responsible for the fact that she was sexually abused by her father when she was five. Monday, May 31, 2010 @ 5:25 PM To SL First to SL: Your message caught my eye because SL is used so often for Silent Lambs. I didn't know if you were Bill or a moderator, then I read your message. I will never stop exposing these perverts. I was concerned about a few personal things but have worked them out. I also have heart disease and sometimes have good and bad times. I've been in the computer field since the 1980's and have read almost every book the WT ever printed. So I can do the most good for victims using my knowledge of the Internet and doing research. I also mention that I have a BA in Psychology from time to time so new people will know I do my best to understand the dynamics of child abuse. The WT doesn't care about people. They care about money, power, position, ego, and the "good name" they believe they have with the world and the "approval" they think they have with "Jehovah God". THEY HAVE NEITHER!! Many people here in Florida call the police when they start door to door and they've been thrown out of many neighborhoods. When I see them, I go to the next street and tell everyone I see. No one in my little street of 20 houses will talk to them because I shared my story with them about my daughter's abuse because of their policies. I read one post a year ago made by a JW servant who said he was going to kill the next person who "defamed God's people". Saying things like that here in Florida can get you arrested or shot. And what kind of thing is that to say? Would Jesus talk that way? We can all help. You can visit your local police and tell them (bring proof found on this site) that known pedophiles are in the neighborhood going door to door. Print out and show the police the "murder letter" where the GB tells the elders not to report a known murderer who was associated with the congregation. And if possible, despite the economy, maybe send a few dollars to Silent Lambs. Every little bit helps. Today, Monday at 4:22 AM German Time (that is Sunday, 10:22 PM your (Central American) time) I got an email from Jim Penton in Canada. It reads: Dear Herbert, I have bad news to report. Ray Franz fell down, and hit his head this morning. He evidently had a stroke. He is brain dead and will probably be taken off life support shortly. So in all intents he is dead. We will all miss him terribly. Notify the friends and pray for his wife who is not well at all. I knew something was not right when we were studying with the Witnesses in Fremont, CA during the early 90's. An elder came to our house with the husband from our study team - Tony Hansen. Tony went off into another room with my husband and the elder (can't remember his name) asked me about our private sex life and if we had oral or anal sex or not. I was flabbergasted. My husband thought I was nuts throwing them out of the house. I guess people don't usually tell the elders to get the F*** out the house. The elder fell off his roof a week or so later and I remember thinking that karma worked. I had already been ready to call it quits with them because they wanted me to start hitting my 2 year old when she wouldn't sit still all day Saturday & Sunday and I wasn't allowed to sit in the lovely furnished nursery that had the sermon piped in "just to allow her to manipulate me". I have been reading here for a few months and I first came here to read so I could find out if I'm alone or not. I have been fighting for years to get my local elders and the WT HQ to listen to me regarding horrific rape and abuse I endured my entire childhood. I even broke the "rules" and went to the police. There is an outstanding warrant for my abuser, should he return to the state where the abuse happened but the small town we lived in cannot afford extradition. I had the chance a year ago to see him arrested as he returned, but the elders got to him first and told him to go home so he could avoid arrest. I wish I could say more. I've felt so betrayed all my life. My abuser, despite overwhelming proof, is an elder and a pioneer in his home congregation. I know he's still hurting others. He was too violent and sadistic to just quit. But WT won't listen to me. Now, I'm about to be disfellowshipped for speaking up and bringing it into the public eye. All I can say right now is thank you to those who've kept this site running and thank you to everyone who shares their stories. It helps me get through another day.
